What started as a small lumber operation in Oakland has become one of the leading suppliers of quality building materials to the Bay Area. Our seven acre yard is located on High Street just off 880 in Oakland. Easy to get to, plenty of room to park, easy to load and get back to work.

Teamwork
John Bacon, Jr. and Brian Ettlin rowed on the Cal crew team together. They still work side-by-side and it’s still about teamwork and connections made and kept. It’s about working a longer day if it means finding the right solution for a customer. It’s about treating homeowner and contractor equally; it’s about respect. It’s about focus and never forgetting you are why we are here and making what’s important to you as important to us.

Always a lumber man
In the early 50’s John Bacon, Sr. began his career in the lumber business at San Bruno Lumber Company. In 1964 he purchased San Mateo Lumber Company with his father-in-law and in 1971 acquired South City Lumber & Supply in South San Francisco. In 1975 he purchased Economy Lumber Company followed by the purchase of Piedmont Lumber in 2010. By understanding the wants and needs of professional contractors, John was able to build one of the largest group of lumber and building material companies in Northern California.
If a load of lumber needs to be delivered on a Saturday morning because you’ve got to get it done, that’s us.
